Video Submission Guidelines

Since the launch of MySiquijor.com, I’ve eagerly awaited the opportunity to accept video submissions from the public. I am happy to announce the day has arrived. The following submission guidelines will ensure that MySiquijor.com can accept and manage these submissions smoothly, and that, once approved, I will be able to properly share your submission with the rest of the MySiquijor.com visitors.

File Format and Length

Currently I am accepting submissions playable in Windows Media Player (AVI, MPEG, and WMV). You can email the video file as an attachment or provide a URL where I can find this content and then download it for ingestion. Videos less than five minutes long are vastly more popular and receive many more views than longer items. At this time, I am limiting the videos to a maximum size of 20 MB each. , Please keep bit rates at an appropriate and reasonable level. Consider breaking longer works into chapters or episodes. Submissions are limited to a maximum of two per 24 hour period. MySiquijor.com retains the right to refuse content based on file type, size, and quality.

Content Guidelines

Videos MUST clearly show "Siquijor"; no exceptions. The content MUST be of interest to other MySiquijor.com visitors. I reserve the right to reject any material based on content deemed to contain inappropriate subject matter.

Your video submission MUST include your name and email address. Email addresses will be verified prior to posting your content. You MUST include a description (with locations) of your video and the approximate date(s) taken.

Hosting

Once a video is live on MySiquijor.com, I will host it for free. Occasionally, however, I will evaluate the performance of our content, and after an initial trial period, I may remove material that is rarely or never viewed. Successful videos may be hosted indefinitely, though this is always at my discretion.

Note, however, in an effort to keep this service free for you and other publishers, I reserve the right to decline any content I feel will not resonate with the MySiquijor.com audience. The purpose of this is not to prevent you from publishing your work here, but rather to ensure the content I do host continues to engage and interest. By way of example, if you upload a video of just your friends and/or relatives, I am probably not going to host it. Provided your video meets the minimum reqirements for "engaging and interesting," and it does not incite hate or contain violence, illegal activities, abusive language, or nudity, the chances are high I'll host your video.

Copyright and Trademark

My goal is for the MySiquijor.com Video library to only contain content submitted by those who hold all copyright and trademark rights to that material. Before submitting your video make sure you are the original author or owner.

You shall be solely responsible for your own User Submissions and the consequences of posting or publishing them. In connection with User Submissions, you affirm, represent, and/or warrant that: you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize MySiquijor.com to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights in and to any and all User Submissions to enable inclusion and use of the User Submissions in the manner contemplated by the Website and these Terms of Service.

You represent that the Content contains no virus or other code or material that will, upon the occurrence of an event, the passage of time, or otherwise, delete or alter any data or impair the operation of any computer system or any equipment or software thereon, or permit any unauthorized access to any such system, equipment or software.
